My niece celebrated her second birthday a few weeks ago; rather, we the adults celebrated it. She just wanted to touch the lens on my camera. She's fascinated by it. Maybe she'll be a photographer when she grows up (obligatory proud auntie comment).
She received several puzzles for her birthday, the kind that are made of compression board - or some such other material.
Anyway, she was working on one of them one day, a total of 8 pieces, and couldn't get a piece to fit. Frustrated, she started grunting and making other "sounds of distress".
In an effort to help, my mom said, "Turn it around, Sweetie. Turn it around."
She proceeded to make a circle on the carpet, turning around 360 - the way a dog does when he is about to lay down on his bed...
The laughter that followed didn't help her frustration level, I don't think.
(Bless her little 2-year-old heart...)
